Proverbs 18:10-11
10The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
The righteous run to it and are safe.
11The rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own esteem.
-Proverbs 18:10-11
The wealth of the believer is found in the Lord. He is our defense and where we are sheltered. A man whose trust is in his wealth finds shelter is in that. The unstated fact here, that is stated across Scripture, is the reality that wealth eventually fades away. It cannot be trusted. However, the Lord remains eternal. He is the strong tower for those who run to Him. The caveat here, so to speak, is that it is the righteous that run to Him. They are the ones who are made to be safe. So let us run to the Lord and find our security in Him. Do not find your security and peace in the things of this world which is destined to fail and fade. Trust in the Lord alone.
