Proverbs 18:22
22He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
And obtains favor from the Lord.
-Proverbs 18:22
This is something that our culture desperately needs. On one side of the spectrum, you have those that begrudge the idea of marriage. The culture battle hates the idea of it and seeks to twist and pervert it. On the other side, you have men that constantly complain about their wives. What is left for those in the younger generations is to see one side that dreads the marriages that they are in, and the other side that seems to agree. No wonder it becomes so hard for younger people to believe something like this. What would happen if, as Christian men, we treated our wives like this? What would happen if, as Christian women, you were regarded in this light? Surely the consequence would not be the cascading statistic of divorce in the church. If we saw our spouses as blessings from the Lord, I believe that we would consider marriage differently all together. Pray and seek that you would view marriage through a biblical lens, and not through the lens of culture. If you are married, reach out to your spouse and delight in them. Send a sweet text, give a nice call, or even write a letter. Give thanks to the Lord for your spouse. Marriage is good.
And obtains favor from the Lord.
