Proverbs 19:10

10Luxury is not fitting for a fool,
Much less for a servant to rule over princes.
-Proverbs 19:10

I have found that social media has normalized many things like this that Solomon highlights as an unbecoming sight. Fools possessing wealth and squandering it. There is something distasteful of one who is foolish and wicked growing in their wealth and becoming "successful". According to Solomon, it carries the same weight as a slave or a servant ruling over princes. For all of those out there that love a good underdog story, this is not talking about this. This is talking about one who is actively a servant ruling over princes. I have no problem with a man who was a fool becoming wise and growing in his success. It is unfortunate when we see foolishness being rewarded greatly with success, wealth, and luxury. As I have stated, we have found a certain normalcy to this. As such, I pray that we may have our eyes to see such circumstances as the Lord sees it. I pray that we would rightly define success and be decisive on where we store our wealth. Let us invest in things above.
