Proverbs 20:6
6Most men will proclaim each his own goodness,
But who can find a faithful man?

Growing up, I remember many times where I would do something wrong, get punished, and then go apologize to me dad. "Words don't mean much," he would say, "Show me you're sorry. Don't just tell me." This was formative for me. We cannot just talk about how good we are or talk a big game without being able to follow it up. Words mean very little if the character behind them is shallow. Do not proclaim your own goodness by your words. Rather, let your actions proclaim it for you. Such an individual is set apart in their integrity. By the grace of God, be a faithful man. Walk in integrity. Walk in holiness to the Lord.
