Proverbs 20:28
28Mercy and truth preserve the king,
And by lovingkindness he upholds his throne.

As we have found in our modern day, leaders with true and genuine integrity are rare. It is almost hard for us to fathom a leader who would rule with mercy, truth, and lovingkindness. As we near election season, I encourage us to let this be our prayer. Pray for conviction of mercy and truth. Pray that the mindset that would be present is lovingkindness. Pray for sincere, God-fearing conviction in our leaders. Let us remember the call that we are to pray for our leaders. We are not called to grumble over them. So pray then. Pray for wisdom for our nation. Pray for wisdom for leader and citizen alike. May this be what we resort to as we recognize problems in our world.
