Proverbs 21:8

    8      The way of a guilty man is perverse;
    But as for the pure, his work is right.
-Proverbs 21:8

To be pure means to be unmixed or unalloyed with. What is it that defines a pure man? It is one who is entirely set upon the Lord. They are unmixed with the world and the things of the world. There is something significant to be said about the sufficiency of the work of Christ that our hearts would be made pure. That means that our hearts are left untouched by the world. He has purified us to make us stand in a right place with Him. Those who remain in their guilt are not so. Their way is perverse. It is twisted. It is the mixture. As those who are in the world, one of the most difficult things a believer must wrestle with is how to be surrounded by such worldliness without letting it touch us. We must cling to Christ in all things. The threat may ever be present, but the Spirit of Grace is more. Cling to what is pure and what is right. Be unmixed and unstained from the world. May the Lord equip you thoroughly to walk that out.
