Proverbs 21:10

    10      The soul of the wicked desires evil;
    His neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.
-Proverbs 21:10

It is the nature of a wicked man to pursue wickedness. This is where it is so incredibly significant that we have been given a new nature. It is no longer our nature to pursue after wickedness. It is now our nature to pursue after righteousness. Why is the wicked man considered wicked? Is it that he is wicked because he ahs done wicked things? Or is he doing wicked things because he is wicked? It is the soul of the wicked that desires to do evil. We should not expect some form of righteous favor from such a one. What hope can we find then? The hope is in Jesus. We are not a righteous people because we do righteous things. We are a righteous people because the Lord has given us a new nature. We are new because the old man has died. Thanks be to Christ that we have been united in a crucifixion like His! Walk then in newness of life.
