Proverbs 21:29
29A wicked man hardens his face,
But as for the upright, he establishes his way.

The man who hardens his face is the one who refuses to take instruction or correction in what they are doing. They are prideful, arrogant, and puffed up. They continue to think they are in the right even in the face of truth confronting them. The upright are not so. The righteous individual takes heed to these things and their way becomes established. We have all heard the stories of the man who refuses to ask for directions on where to go. After hours of being lost they finally get around to asking for directions and then the path is established. The wise man begins with the instructions. The wicked man never heeds them. Be invested in the word of God and heed that instruction. Listen to and do what it says. Walk out your faith in sincerity, growing in wisdom.
