Proverbs 21:30

30There is no wisdom or understanding
Or counsel against the Lord.
-Proverbs 21:30

I can hardly imagine the pride it takes to believe that we can out-wit the Lord Almighty. What charge can we bring against the Judge of all? What wisdom can we produce that we can advise God on? What kind of understanding can we instruct the Lord in? While we may understand this intellectually, how do our lives demonstrate this fact? We may know we cannot out-wit God, yet we live in a way contrary to what He has instructed. It is as though we think we have arrived at some great conclusion that the Lord just forgot to mention. Do we truly believe that we cannot teach the Lord something? If we rightly arrive at the conclusion that we cannot, then why do we not heed He who actually does have all the answers? Pride is our only excuse. Humble yourselves before the Lord and receive His instruction.
