Proverbs 22:1

    A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
    Loving favor rather than silver and gold.

Reputation definitely is not everything for the individual, but it absolutely carries mor weight than riches. Reputation is ultimately a trial of one's character. If you consistently have a bad reputation among folk, you ought to truly check your heart. If you are found to be contentious or troubling, perhaps you need to foster up greater character in the Lord. I pray we can come to see just how valuable our character really is. It is not just important for us in this life, but it is critical for the next. If our tried and true character is found to be godly, then we are united with the Father. But if our character proves to be wicked, then we have a serious problem. Draw near to the Lord and allow Him to have His perfect work in you.
