Proverbs 22:12
12The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge,
But He overthrows the words of the faithless.

There is a certain protection allotted for those who sincerely pursue truth. The Lord watches over them as He continues to preserve knowledge. This does not promise a protection for all trials, but there is knowledge entrusted that helps you to endure those well. The alternative is that of those who are faithless. They care not for the knowledge of the Lord or sincere truth. They care to please themselves in a way that seems fit. These are those that the Lord overthrows in their foolishness. It is wisdom to heed the voice of the Lord and His word. For the words of the faithless will be overthrown.
