Proverbs 23:15-16

15My son, if your heart is wise,
My heart will rejoice—indeed, I myself;
16Yes, my inmost being will rejoice
When your lips speak right things.

I recently had a conversation with my father where he said something not too far from this in concept. He went on about how proud of all of his kids he is. Above everything that he was delighting in, he delighted in the fact that his kids are all pursuing the Lord. It is the delight of the parent to see their children walk in a right way. While the previous devotion focused a lot more on the parents, this one focuses very much on the children. Even more so, I would say it focuses on the children of the Lord. Let us cause our Father's heart to delight and rejoice by living in a right way. Let the overflow of our hearts pour into our speech. May it be seasoned with salt at all times. Let us rejoice in the Lord and delight ourselves in Him.
