Proverbs 23:22

22Listen to your father who begot you,
And do not despise your mother when she is old.

There is wisdom in the experience that our parents have provided for us. We would do well to respect and honor them in this. We should heed the old words of wisdom that our fathers poured on us and do well to care for our mothers in her old age. It is true that many of us do not come from godly families. That does not forgo the instruction to care for them or not heed instruction. Have discernment with it and pray sincerely. But do not neglect your parents. Pray for them and care for them.
