Proverbs 24:5-6

    5      A wise man is strong,
    Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength;
    6      For by wise counsel you will wage your own war,
    And in a multitude of counselors there is safety.

What is it that makes the wise man strong? First it is important to understand the strength that comes about from wisdom. The strength of wisdom is in the ability to make well executed decisions that reflect righteousness. What it is that makes a wise man strong is the counsel that he receives. The wise man heeds correction and instruction. As we live in a world of spiritual warfare, we need to have wise counsel to know how to navigate it. And so the strength of a wise man does not come from his own self-made wisdom. It comes from those that surround him. As such, we ought to surround ourselves with those who walk in wisdom themselves. By this we may be strengthened and able to endure the attacks of the enemy.
