Proverbs 24:15-16

15Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous;
Do not plunder his resting place;
16For a righteous man may fall seven times
And rise again,
But the wicked shall fall by calamity.
-Proverbs 24:15-16

The righteous will find themselves to be a formidable opponent of the wicked for the reason alone that the righteous live unto the Lord for the next life. What is it that man can do to me? If all of my earthly goods are taken, I live for heavenly treasures. If my job is lost, the Lord is my provider. If my life is taken, I am to be present with the Lord. So what can man do to me then? All they would try, I would be able to stand back up. But for the wicked man, if any of those are lost among them, they lose all that they are striving for. This serves as all the more reason for us to be secure in the Lord and in all He offers. Let us not live for the things of this world in any capacity.
