Proverbs 24:26
26 He who gives a right answer kisses the lips.

Some of this has the potential to be lost on us in our culture. Most of us consider a kiss, specifically on the lips, to be entirely romantic. This is a cultural matter for us. Biblically, it usually had to do more with friendship or allegiance. The idea that is coming from this is that of speaking the truth in love. Or perhaps it can have something to do with speaking honestly merits love. Regardless of how you may view it, the core of it remains. We ought to be speaking the truth. Now it is possible to speak the truth outside of love, and that is not looked well upon in Scripture. We must speak the truth in love. In such, we may be effective in what we say. But first we ourselves must be acquainted with the truth. Take time today to dive into the Word and grow in your understanding of the truth of Christ.
