Psalm 111:10
10The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
His praise endures forever.

The fear of the Lord being the beginning of wisdom may not simply be saying that in order to gain any wisdom you must first fear the Lord. While I do believe there is truth to that, there seems to be an understanding through Scripture that the most basic form of wisdom would fear the Lord. If there is any wisdom within you, the fear of the Lord is a right thing. The one who can destroy all and will judge all things who sees all that you do ought to be rightly feared. To walk in obedience to Him is rooted in a good understanding of who He is. Fear the Lord and walk in obedience to Him. It is good and wise to do so.
