Psalm 115:1
1Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy,
Because of Your truth.
-Psalm 115:1
It can be a trap where we convince ourselves that we deserve some credit. We do not deserve the glory. It is not by our works or our efforts that the Lord has given to us salvation. It is because of His mercy. It is because of His truth that we have the ability to walk as we do. It is by Him that we have any ability to do anything whatsoever. Why should I receive any glory for what the Lord has accomplished. Just as Paul tells the Romans in Romans 12, do not think more highly of yourself than you ought. And as he shares with the Ephesians, any of you who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. Think with sober judgment and maintain sight on the Lord. Do not become proud in yourself and fall for that trap that hinders you to think you are something when you are not. So to the Lord be the glory, honor, and praise! To the Lord be our lives lived unto Him! Let us be unto the Lord.
