Psalm 141:5-10

5Let the righteous strike me;
It shall be a kindness.
And let him rebuke me;
It shall be as excellent oil;
Let my head not refuse it.
For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.
6Their judges are overthrown by the sides of the cliff,
And they hear my words, for they are sweet.
7Our bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave,
As when one plows and breaks up the earth.
8But my eyes are upon You, O God the Lord;
In You I take refuge;
Do not leave my soul destitute.
9Keep me from the snares they have laid for me,
And from the traps of the workers of iniquity.
10Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
While I escape safely.
-Psalm 141:5-10

The statement, "You can't judge me," was always a funny one to me. No one has an issue with judgment when it is a good thing. I've never complimented someone only for them to shout that at me and get upset with my comment. People do not mind judgments. They just don't like bad judgment. The truth is, as believers, we have signed ourselves up to be judged by our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are supposed to hold each other accountable. The righteous rebuke is a good thing. The compliments of wickedness are detrimental. Be cautious as to what you are defining as good and bad critique. There are things that the Lord has said that should make us uncomfortable. That does not mean it is bad or wrong. Likewise, there are comments that the wicked would make that could make you feel good. That does not mean they are good. Be established in righteousness and set yourself against wickedness. This is what the Lord has called us to as believers.
