Psalm 145:17-21

17The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works.
18The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
19He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
20The Lord preserves all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
21My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord,
And all flesh shall bless His holy name
Forever and ever.
-Psalm 145:17-21

There are a lot of conditional statements made here. It is not just anyone that the Lord is near to. He is near to those who call upon Him, though not any who call upon Him. He is near to those who call upon Him in truth. He does not just fulfill anyone's desire, but the desire of those who fear Him. He does not preserve just anyone, but those who love Him. Likewise, He does not just destroy everyone, but those who are wicked.

Conditional statements like this should stand out in our mind. There is an expectation for us. First and foremost, we must call out to Him in truth. Who is the way, the truth, and the life? No one comes to the Father but by Jesus. If we are not calling out to the Lord from Jesus, He will not be near to us. Fear the Lord and love Him. Walk in righteousness. Do not test the limits of these conditions. May your mouth instead speak the praise of the Lord.
