Psalm 147:12-20

12Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!
Praise your God, O Zion!
13For He has strengthened the bars of your gates;
He has blessed your children within you.
14He makes peace in your borders,
And fills you with the finest wheat.
15He sends out His command to the earth;
His word runs very swiftly.
16He gives snow like wool;
He scatters the frost like ashes;
17He casts out His hail like morsels;
Who can stand before His cold?
18He sends out His word and melts them;
He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19He declares His word to Jacob,
His statutes and His judgments to Israel.
20He has not dealt thus with any nation;
And as for His judgments, they have not known them.
Praise the Lord!
-Psalm 147:12-20

We may have become overly comfortable with this idea, but the Lord is capable. This is something that is truly praiseworthy. Think of the world that the Psalmist was surrounded by. Idols are everywhere, people are pleading with them, and their gods are silent. Yet when the people seek the face of the Lord, He responds. He is capable. Think of our world now. Nothing has changed. Even so, our God is capable.

When we are seeking His face and praying to the Lord, let us remember that we pray to a capable God. He has made Himself known for our sakes. He has paid the price for our salvation. He heals the sick and restores the broken. Praise the Lord, we serve a capable God!
