Proverbs 31:13
13 She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
-Proverbs 31:13
Many might struggle to say that they work willingly with their hands. In our modern culture, we often seek to do as little as we can with the time we have. We view work poorly. But for the bride of Christ, it is our joy to work unto the Lord, for His benefit. Consider what is written in 1 John 5.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
-1 John 5:3
It is not a burden to work what we work as believers. It is a joy and pleasure to honor the Lord. After all, He is our pursuit. It is not out of obligation that we walk in obedience, but willingness to work the works of righteousness. Do you think that it was out of obligation that Jesus did all that He did? Or was love a core motive? I pray that love can be the motive us to work unto the Lord.
