Psalm 63:6-8

6When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
7Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
8My soul follows close behind You;
Your right hand upholds me.
-Psalm 63:6-8

We are given an incredible practice to implement in our daily routines in this passage. Usually as we wind down we take account for our days and anticipate what is to come in the next. Tonight as you lie down, think back on your day at areas the Lord has worked. What has the Lord taught you through Scripture reading? How has He interacted with you through prayer? How have you seen His hand guide you throughout the day? The questions can go on, but meditate upon the work of the Lord.

Similar to how investing time with Him early in the morning can set the tone for the day, meditating upon Him at night can set that tone for your morning! If you roll a snowball down a hill, it gets bigger and bigger. However, if you roll that snowball and stop it every couple of feet, it will take a while before it can grow. It is similar in our faith. We can use the momentum of our morning to keep us going through the day and the momentum of our night to fuel us for our morning. If you are wanting to grow spiritually, make it a regular practice to meditate upon the Lord.
