Proverbs 15:13

13A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance,
But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
-Proverbs 15:13

There is something that needs to be stated about our countenance being a reflection of our heart. This Proverb is not necessarily offering a correction, but rather an implementation of being aware of those around you. If one walks with a genuinely cheerful countenance, they have a merry heart. Yet when one walks opposite of that, let us heed to them. A sorrowful heart leads to a broken spirit. This just so happens to be one of the best places for the Lord to work. He brings up those who have a broken and contrite spirit. There is healing in His wings. As we come alongside those who hurt, let us guide them to the Lord. Run alongside them through the dark nights of their soul. If it is you who is in a place of hurt and sorrow, run to the Lord whole heartedly. In His Spirit there is comfort and peace. May the Lord give your spirit rise and be strengthened.
