Proverbs 31:28-29

28      Her children rise up and call her blessed;
    Her husband also, and he praises her:
    29      “Many daughters have done well,
    But you excel them all.”
-Proverbs 31:28-29

One of the key identity pieces that we have as the bride of Christ is that we are truly and deeply loved and cherished by Him. We are indeed the apple of His eye. He has longed for us and desires depth of relationship with us. The image of marriage was given to show the love between Christ and the Church. Being the husband of my wife, I do not look to any other woman. I see the excellency in my bride, whom I have chosen. So the same is the attitude of Christ to His Bride, the Church. See what is said in Ephesians 5 regarding this,

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
-Ephesians 5:25-29

We are loved so wonderfully and perfectly by the Lord. Let us love Him as He has loved us.
