Proverbs 25:17

17Seldom set foot in your neighbor’s house,
Lest he become weary of you and hate you.
-Proverbs 25:17

We need to be cautious with overstaying our welcome and walk that line of taking part in someone's generosity carefully. It can be easy to revisit such places where the welcoming is so warm, but it must be done sparingly. It was well understood in Solomon's day that it was important to be a good host. Hospitality was heavily emphasized. As such, many sought to take advantage of it. It quickly would burden those who would host. Share the load with those who host you. Bring them over. Share in generosity with them. If you cannot in money, perhaps you can with food. If not with food, then with time. If not with quantity of time, then with quality of time. Seek to find ways to love those around you. Uplift one another and consider others more highly than yourself.
