Proverbs 28:24

    24      Whoever robs his father or his mother,
    And says, “It is no transgression,”
    The same is companion to a destroyer.

It is well established that we are to honor our father and mother. In fact, Paul will go on to say in 1 Timothy 5 that whoever does not provide for their father and mother is worse than an unbeliever. That is just about not providing for those who have raised you up. But now what of one that goes that extra step and takes from them and attempts to justify themselves. They are companions to the ones who wreak havoc and destroy. I remember some wise words given from my parents when it came to dating, "Pay attention to how they treat their parents." It is a good way to get to know an individual. Let us be wise in our conduct with our parents and seek to bless them, not to curse them. As we honor them, we honor the Lord.
