Proverbs 29:3
3Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice,
But a companion of harlots wastes his wealth.
-Proverbs 29:3
It is an important matter for the believer to love wisdom. What would the alternate option be? Would it not be to love foolishness? This is the way of the world. The live their lives by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. We, however, live by the grace of God and through His grace. We love because He first loved us. If we love the Lord, we love wisdom. If we do not love wisdom, we will not love the Lord. The man who delights in wisdom gives great cause for his father to rejoice. He is not living life in such a way that is dishonorable. Rather, he lives in a way that is life giving and righteous. Seldom have I met a father of a child that desires for his kid to walk in absolute wickedness and foolishness. So often have I met parents that long for their children to walk in the way of wisdom. So let us hold fast to such a way of life and delight in He who became wisdom to us, Jesus Christ.
