Proverbs 28:16

16A ruler who lacks understanding is a great oppressor,
But he who hates covetousness will prolong his days.
-Proverbs 28:16

It is implied here that the ruler who lacks understanding is one who indulges in his covetous desires. As such, he oppresses greatly. Covetousness is not something to take lightly. It removes love from the equation. A man who covets another's wife cares not for the wife nor her husband. A man who covets another's wealth cares not for the man who possesses the wealth. A man who covets the things of this world cares not for the God who made all things. As such, covetousness is named as idolatry. It must be removed from our lives. Let the Lord be your satisfaction. You will never be satisfied in the things of this world or by the cares and affairs of this life. You will only find true contentment and satisfaction in Him. So hasten to Him and lay all your desires before Him, for He cares for you. Bless the Lord all the days of your life!
