Proverbs 28:25
25 He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife,
But he who trusts in the LORD will be prospered.
-Proverbs 28:25
Pride is a poison that eats up an individual. Self focus and self seeking are dangerous games to play with. It removes our ability to see things from the perspective of the Lord and prevents us from loving Him with everything in us and from loving our neighbor as ourselves. If we understand this verse correctly, we will see that the opposite of the one with a proud heart is the one who trusts in the Lord. What does that tell us of prideful men? They do not trust in the Lord. Pride must be set aside and we must walk in humility. The Lord can work wonders with a humble heart. But He resists the proud heart as the proud heart resists Him. Humble yourself before Him. Put your trust in the Lord with everything in you and abandon pride. Draw near with a humble heart.
