Proverbs 28:27

    27      He who gives to the poor will not lack,
    But he who hides his eyes will have many curses.

There is no shortage of blessing promised to the generous. This once again comes down to the concept behind what good stewardship is. The best steward is the one who does what the master wants with his money. In our case, we should seek to know what the Lord wants for us to do with what He has entrusted to us. We see continuously a desire of the Lord for us to be generous. We give out of abundance and overflow. The problem with the average American mindset is that when we increase, we often increase in our own lives instead of increasing in our capacity to give. As a result, we are never in abundance or overflow. We increase our need according to our provision instead of letting the provision cover our need and allow us to be generous with what we have. May the Lord give us wisdom in what He has entrusted to us.
